Travel information

What to sort out before you fly

The notes below come from the pre-departure briefing we send guests from Taiwan. Regulations change, so we confirm again against your departure point and dates after you book.

What if I do not speak English?

A Chinese-speaking tour leader is available as a paid add-on. If you book one, airport transfers, the daily programme, meals and lodging communication are all covered. The bird guides and drivers in the field are local Tanzanian and Kenyan professionals.

How do I get there?

From Taiwan the routing usually goes via Dubai or Istanbul. International flights are not included in the tour price; our Taiwan and Asia Representative can help plan the routing.

What documents and visas do I need?

A passport valid for at least six months and an e-visa are required. Yellow fever: for Tanzania, a certificate is not currently required unless you arrive from an endemic area. For Kenya, requirements depend on your point of departure and current regulations — confirm with our Representative when you book.

What should I pack?

Bring earth-tone light clothing, a warm jacket (early mornings and the crater rim are cold) and your own binoculars. Camera gear and memory cards must be brought with you — they are hard to buy locally.

Health and insurance?

Consult your doctor about malaria prophylaxis before departure and arrange travel insurance early. If you have mobility or dietary needs, tell us during planning so we can adjust pace and lodging.

Group size and seating?

Small departures with a maximum of 18 guests. Custom 4x4 safari Land Cruisers throughout, with a guaranteed window seat for every guest for viewing and photography.

What does the price include?

Both featured tours include all meals and lodging and national park fees; the Tanzania route also includes the internal charter flight. International flights are not included. A Chinese-speaking tour leader is a paid add-on — contact us for pricing.

Is this suitable for older or first-time travellers?

Yes. The programme is vehicle-based game viewing, an optional paid Chinese-speaking tour leader can join, and the pace and daily driving time can be reduced on request. If your group has mixed fitness levels, a tailor-made private departure lets us re-plan daily distances and lodge locations.

Still have a question?

Our Taiwan and Asia Representative answers itinerary, pricing and pre-departure questions directly in Chinese.
